Thank You for a Great Season!

As the season comes to an end, I wanted to offer a few final thoughts, as well as a look ahead towards our off-season plans and projects.

First of all, thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Membership Meeting the other weekend. I appreciate our members taking time out of their ski/riding day to participate, and my hope, moving forward is that more and more members will take part in the club’s collective processes such as these.

I would like to thank each Board and Committee Member for their on-going commitment to our club and for providing a thorough and accurate overview of club operations, efforts and initiatives. Thanks, as well, to Mount Snow’s General Manager Erik Barnes, Skier Services Director Brian Donovan, and Training Center Director Wayne Conn for speaking on behalf of the Resort and answering questions.

Finally, I would like to thank our members once again for a truly great season. I hope you all had an opportunity to not only take advantage of the great facility we have, but also attend some of our social functions, or participate in some of the extra-curricular activities he held.

The club will maintain regular business hours through the final day of skiing, and members can enjoy full use of the facility until closing day. Throughout the off-season, the building is generally closed, but Ariel is available through email and/or phone, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need anything.

Over the next few weeks we will be determining the viability of one of our proposed capital improvement project – renovating the two Family Locker Rooms. Our hope is we are able to finalize a project plan that accomplishes most, if not all, of our goals (replace all small lockers, reconfigure the space to work and flow more efficiently, build more cubbies, improve the floor, and an overall upgrade/refresh of the space) within the proposed budget cost. Assuming all goes according to plan, we will use the summer and fall to complete this project. As soon as we have a definitive plan, we will let everyone know! That being said, I encourage all locker occupants to empty the contents of their lockers before the end of the season.

In addition to the locker room project, we will be spending the off-season continuing to improve upon various operational aspects of the club, as well as refining established initiatives, researching and developing some new ideas we have, and completing some small, general maintenance tasks. So we expect to have a busy summer here, but look forward to the end results!

Our goal is for Membership Renewal for the 2019/2020 season to open much earlier than it has over the past couple of years. As we near that date, Ariel will send out all the necessary details and timeline.

On behalf of the Mount Snow Ski Club Board, I hope everyone has a healthy and happy “off-season” – I expect we will be back here ready to ski and ride again before we know it!
